The Christmas Spectacular arose in response to the reported food bank shortages in the wake of 9-11. Down through the years the show has continued to highlight the need for food donations – and to recognize the importance of “helping those less fortunate than ourselves”. The Christmas Spectacular continues to host outstanding musical entertainment. Through the Pledge Allegiance, National Anthem and God Bless America, our event constantly brings about the awareness that only because of our hard won freedom do we have the opportunity to “Celebration of Life in Our Community over the Holidays”.
Leading off the show this year will be The Greatest Showman singers directed by Billie Wildrick, also director of this years’ “Annie” that will run at the 5th Ave Theatre Nov/Dec. Songs will include “The Greatest showman”, “This Is Me” and “A Million Dreams”.
Enjoy “The Spirit” of Pike Place Market street musicians and singers – aka “Buskers”. The Seattle Dickens Carolers; the Tallboys country band; Eleven year old Chiara Roger, virtuoso piano competition gold medalist; and World Show Dance Finalists Davide Fumagalli and Debora Macaluso. The dancers dramatically raise awareness to our Freedom , without which there may not be a Christmas Celebration.
For those of you with an interest in helping others , there will be Wish Kids from Make A Wish of Alaska and Washington, who will be introduced by VP of Mission Advancement, Peter Drury. And there will be a focus upon African women suffering from critical illness at the same time they are stripped of their pride and personal integrity. This story is told by Sheila Murphy CRNA, a Providence Regional Medical Center anesthesia staff member.
Michael Jackson Tribute Artists from LA will perform in memory of Michael Jackson, who gave more to Make A Wish and African Charities & programs than any other Pop Artist in history. They are aided by the wonderful Anokey Traditional African musicians and dancers directed by Eugene Amponsah.
An impressive list of other performers include: Longtime veterans of the Christmas Spectacular – Megan Chenovick, Carl Kelley and Victor Benedetti; Lee Mathews, past Director of the Everett Chorale x 25 years, now director of the new “Voices of America Community Choir” – watch out for a “FLASH MOB”; Lake Stevens High School Choir, Monika Tabor Director; The Everett High School Jr ROTC, CDR Richard Gile USN, Ret, Director; The Dorothy Jayne Studio representatives featuring The North City Rockers, Directed by David Narvaez; and the Clap Hands Just Dance group – Ryan Bollen, Mascha Wright and Kelsey Narvaez.
